 Pimlott Foundation gives you the opportunity to workshop and perform an excerpt from the show ‘Wicked’.
It will be led by Lisa Roberts, who teaches at Colchester Institute (BA course in Popular Music, Rockschool, and the Extended Diploma in Popular Music). A pianist will be accompanying you.
There is no cost for this workshop day.
PLEASE NOTE: all morning solo slots are now booked, there is availability for afternoon group sessions.
Who is it for?
Young people who are interested in finding out how to develop musical acting skills – as a soloist and/or as a group performer.

Proposed Schedule
Soloist workshop (10.30-13.00 approx.)
If you would like the opportunity to improve and develop your performance of a solo song with one to one guidance, THIS IS FOR YOU!
Bring a solo of your choice (with piano accompaniment if necessary) and be shown how to develop;
- Characterisation- the ‘who’, ‘what’, where’ and ‘why’ of your piece.
- Vocal techniques- how to ‘twang’ your way to a better performance, finding your projection and vocal colour, and putting it all together.
There are places for up to 8 people in this section of the workshop, with all performers being given a minimum of 20 minutes individual tuition. We will listen to each other’s songs, and discuss how to improve – in a relaxed, positive way.
There will be an opportunity to perform the songs later that day for friends and family.
Main workshop (14.00-17.00 approx.)
This section of the day is open to all students between the ages of 10-17. No singing or acting experience is required, this is a WICKED chance to come and find out what you can do! In this session, you will participate in;
- A vocal warm-up
- An acting workshop to help your understanding of ‘high’ and ‘low’ status in performance in a fun way. It will include improvisation, discussion and performance. This is your chance to discover your inner West End Star!
- Learning the duet ‘For Good’ from ‘Wicked’, which will be staged and performed at the end of the day with friends and family welcome to watch in the barn.
Please bring a packed lunch if you are staying for the whole day.
Informal Concert
All friends and relatives are invited to come and see what we have been rehearsing during the day, at Old House Barn from 5pm – 5.45pm (approx.)
